PAPERCOATING SIZE RECOVERY

In paper industry, latex starch & pigments are used for coating application. The chemicals are mixed into the coating kitchen tank & then passed through a filter to remove any suspended solids for coating application usage.

Filter backwash & coating kitchen backwash are directly sent to ETP for treatment which increases OPEX for ETP.

The new INDION UF specialty membrane system is very effective as compared to conventional ETP treatments. The new INDION UF specialty membrane system rejects suspended solids & size (traces of latex, starch & pigments) & recycles them back to feed liquid. The recovered water is used for process application.

In the color paper coating process, colored effluent with high suspended solids is generated, which is treated by conventional treatment to remove these impurities & to obtain treated effluent. The effluent contains TSS & color and is not acceptable for process application.

Existing conventional methods feed the entire effluent load on Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and hence incur huge capital and operational costs for waste management systems.

INDION UF specialty membrane system removes impurities such as color & suspended solids. 100% of the Suspended Solids in the coating is retained by the membrane & recovered water from effluent recycle is reused.

INDION UF specialty membrane system reduces load on Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) & results in ETP cost savings.
